BAUER / BOWER / BOWERS I am directly descended from Andreas Bauer, Bower, Bowers
who was born approx. 1761, his parents were Michael and Maria Barbara Bauer.
Michael and Maria Barbara lived in Donegal Township, Lancaster County and apparently
bought land with Michael's brother, Andrew, in 1758. Michael's other children were, Anna
Margaretha, born, approx. 1758, Christopher, born December 5, 1765 and Maria Barbara, born
November 21, 1766. Michael apparently, lived out his life in Donegal Township, Lancaster
County, PA and died sometime close to 1789. Andrew, Michael's son, married Mary _________.
Andrew and Mary had the following children, Michael, born September 25, 1789, Henry, born
June 6, 1792, George, April 8, 1795, Barra, born December 4, 1797 and David, born May 20,
1808. I am descended from David Bowers who married Nancy Stout
(I believe she too is from Dauphin County.). Apparently Andrew and Mary Bower moved
from Lancaster County, PA to Swatara Township, Dauphin County prior to 1820. Andrew must
have died before 1830 and now David Bower is listed as living in Swatara Township in 1830
federal census. David moves to Cumberland County, Frankford Township and then Mifflin
Township sometime before 1840. David dies February 2, 1881 and is buried in Lower Paxtang
(Paxton) Township at the German Baptist Church along Union Deposit Road. Apparently he was
a Dunkard. Can you help me with more Bower information. Thanks |

| 4 January 1997, Calvin Neubaum, Jr., NEUBAUM
Looking for any information on the Neubaum
families of Steelton and Harrisburg.6 Neubaum brothers settled in that
area around 1881. I know Wilhelm was killed in an accident at the Pennsylvania steel works
in 1886, but have little information on his brothers Augustus, Gustave, Heinrich, Johann,
and Frederick. Any information about these men would be appreciated. |
| 4 January 1997, Bob Clayton, CLAYTON An early ancestor enlisted in the army at Paxton, PA on 25 Jan 1777.
Reportedly, he served with the 10th Pennsylvania Regiment under Colonel Richard Hampton.
He was a private in Capt. Stokes company and in Major Grier's
company. He was captured at Germantown.
My interest is in finding where Peter CLAYTON
lived at the time of his entering the army, and who were his parents and siblings.
Aside from querying the US Government, have you any
suggestion as to how I can learn more? |
