I have just been told by another researcher that some time ago they stumbled across information for the surname ZULAUF in the records of (quote) "Salem Reform First Church, which is located in Harrisburg." If this report is accurate, the information would be about the family of my 4th great grandfather Johannes Zulauf. They lived not far from Harrisburg from 1792 to 1802. Can anyone tell me anything about the surname ZULAUF in Harrisburg between those dates, or can anyone tell me how to access information for a German church named either "Salem Reformed" or "First Reformed" in Harrisburg. I live in Arizona, so I would like to get any information about ZULAUF in Harrisburg by E-mail or from a WebSite. Any suggestions are welcome.

Martin SHRENK was born about 1824 in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., PA to either Martin or Andrew Shrenk. He was in the Civil War, Co.F, 8th Regiment, Ohio. When he returned home from the Civil War, he married Cecelia Sidney McCormick born 22 MAR 1830. They owned a boarding house in the 1st ward, Fremont,Sandusky Co., Ohio in 1870. On 9 FEB 1882, Celia remarried in 1888 and died 24 OCT 1911. She is buried in Fremont, Ohio. What happened to Martin SHRENK? He did NOT die in Fremont, Ohio. And there is no record of a divorce. There were no children. Is Martin listed in the 1880 census for Dauphin co., OH. Which Shrenk /Schrenk families lived in Harrisburg or Dauphin Co., PA in 1880? Did Martin Shrenk die in Harrisburg, PA? His mother, Anna (MACHEN) Shrenk lived with Peter Pancake and his wife, a gentleman who lived in Harrisburg. I think Mrs. Pancake was the siter of Anna Shrenk.

I have a photo of Waltonville High School, 1915, with the students' names on the back. Some of the surnames are: LAUR, HIRONS, JUMPER, CARVER, CAMERON, ANDERSON, CAMPBELL, TUTTLE, HAGLE, MANNEN, NEWBURG, GREEN, HAMLIN, PLACE, REIDELBERGER. Since I found this photo in an antique shop, I didn't know where Waltonville was located - checked Rootsweb and there seems to be one in Dauphin Co. PA and one in Jefferson Co. IL. Is there a possiblity of any of these people in Dauphin Co.? This should be in a library in its respected county.......Gerri

I am trying to locate information on the Scheib family. My grandfather John Scheib was born in Gratz, PA. I also understand there is a book on the history of Gratz that has my grandfather and his family pictured in it. I would love to purchase a copy if someone knows where I can do this. I would be most grateful. I believe it is a group picture of either Frank Scheib, my grandfather or Franklin Scheib, my great grandfather with their family. I hope someone will get back to me on this matter. Thank you
