E. Sanders , SHOOP / LINGLE John
SHOOP born 20 Mar. 1796 in Conewago Township, Dauphin Co., Pa. Died 29 Mar. 1891. I
believe in New Cumberland, Pa. He married a Mrs. LINGLE (daughter of Philip Hetrick
and BRIGHTBILL in Oct 182. Mrs. LINGLE born 11 Dec. 1791; died 1 Jan.
1892. I have the following children listed for them but I know that there is a problem
regarding Mrs. Lingle's age at the time of their birth: Jacob, John and Augustus SHOOP;
William Elsworth SHOOP b. abt. 1861; Mary E. SHOOP b. abt 1863; Charles SHOOP b. abt 1864.
These birth dates would make Mrs. Lingle in her 70's when having these children,
unlikely!!!. If I can find more information on John SHOOP and Mrs. LINGLE and their
children I can probably find the correct parents for the bottom 3. Thanks |

Russell Schadt , SCHADT / DURR $100
REWARD for finding the burial pllace of Rosa Ann "GENROSE" SCHADT nee
DURR. William SCHADT, b. 06 June 1866, Germany, came to America in 1850/52 and was 1st in
New York City; 2nd Middletown, Pa.; 3rd in Lock Haven, Pa. He married Rosa Ann DURR, b.
abt. 185, on 17 June 1850-56. Where they were married is not known, nor has any DURR
lineage connection been found. I have been to Germany, met cousins and visited the
Lutheran church where William was baptized; however, there are no records of the marriage
and no Durr families in the area. William died in Lock Hasven, Pa., 17 April, 1914 and is
buried at that place. Rosa Anna died from lockjaw, 4 April 1870 at the same place. There
is an account of her death in the local newspaper, but no record of her funeral or the
place of interment. William may have taken her body to the New York City area, Middletown,
Pa. or Lebanon, Pa. for interment. I am offering a $100 reward to the first person who can
find the burial place of Rosa Ann. Any other Schadt or Durr information would be
appreciated. |

Gorby , GORBY I am attempting
to verify whether a GORBY was a member of the infamous "Paxton Boys" who
massacred the last of the Susquehannock Indians in December 1763. According to a
handwritten manuscript found in a shoebox kept by a now deceased great aunt: "A group
of trappers killed some indians and Gov. John Penn tried to punish them by taking away the
family lands. These were known as the Paxton boys and names found were GORBY, GREEN
/ CRAWFORD as well as several others. This caused a revolt and many people left
the settlement." I have been told that there are a number of lists around (old
histories of Dauphin and Lancaster County) of people who were members of this group but
have been unable to locate any to date. |
